Bodies of work

 My goal as an artist is to create visual spaces of refuge, where the noise of the everyday world fades away. Through the principles of Impressionism, plein air landscape painting, the Colorist technique, and an intuitive sense of composition, I conjure scenes that invite a peaceful escape. These works are moments frozen in time, like colorful memories that hold only the most essential details—softly blurred, unhurried, and steeped in a gentle mystery. Each piece aims to offer a quiet sanctuary, where the viewer can breathe deeply, find stillness, and experience the world in a more meditative, intimate way. 

 My journey as an artist began in kindergarten when I was introduced to finger painting. I have never been good at relating to other people, but "creating" was something I could do, it didn't matter what others thought, and I didn't ever have to explain it. Throughout grade school, junior high school, and high school, Art was the one thing I could count on. I was encouraged by some amazing teachers in High School, and was fortunate to be able to attend art school for college. My four years at the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, Minnesota were a wonderful learning experience, and sparked a career as a fine artist that has had many twists and turns and brought much joy to my life.
